You are about to become an adult, and yet you are still at the stage in your life where you are embarrassed to be seen with your family. Somewhere along the line you may have become stuck at that stage in your life that is usually finished by the time you are 16 or 17. But here you are still feeling awkward to be seen in public with your family. Now I am not trying to say that you are wrong, or that you are experiencing feelings that are invalid. All I am saying is that you may be stuck at a stage in your life that you may want to move past. You are right to question your feelings about being seen in public with your family.
