Is it true they might lower the drinking age to 18 in America?
right now there is a lot of talk about this……it will never happen… before the “21” age limit it used to be 18 ( and before MADD age limit was there but probably over looked, just like drinking and driving was over looked) people, the age was set by the state, then the federal government intervened , and said that if every state did not raise the drinking age to “21” they would stop giving the states money to help with road/freeway work ( states have to have this money or elese there would be huge tax increse) so when the states balanced out the equation they came to the conclusion: people under the age of “21” should not be drinking….that way theyu keep their funding. this is actually a very complex question that involves the constitution ;’ seperation of federal and state powers lobbiests mortality alchohol abuse/ drug abuse etc. if you want to drink legaly under “21” in America join the military the drinking age on base for enlisted personal is “18” but you have to fight for
