If there is DMT produced / present in the pineal gland, is not yet proven. It is only a hypothesis raised by Dr Rick Strassman due to the presence of certain enzymes and Strassman’s interest in the pineal.. It IS proven, though, for decades already, that DMT is produced in the human body and is present at all times in trace amounts, for unknown functions (which could be several functions). It is also present in several different animal and plant species.
