Is it true the Mighty Ducks were founded by Disney to advertise their movie?

Yes, Disney had made a movie about a team w/the same name. They’ve won the shimmery SC. The movies helped create a great deal of attention to hockey. It’s called advertising and promoting the sport. The NHL needs all the help it can get. Two lockouts in ~10 yrs did NOT help the sport. Now, that’s beyond a middle finger. After Disney sold the team the name was changed to the Anaheim Ducks.
