Is it true that women have smaller brains?
Yes, indeed, it is a fact that women have smaller physical brains. However, the issue about brain power, as opposed to size, is that it is determined by the way in which that brain is wired. The number of inter-synaptic connections is what determines basic intelligence ability, and that is then, hopefully, sculpted into a fine work of art by an education system and a social system that truly value a good result. Aye – there’s the rub!
Our brains are smaller because the rest of our body is also smaller. It’s called “sexual dimorphism”…. that’s a big fancy word that means “males are bigger than females”. Our brain-to-body ratio is the same as that of men. Men aren’t “so much more intelligent” and neither are women. We are what we are.
