Is it true that weight training can burn fat?

0

Weight training is a way to burn fat. When you weight train by working the muscle to exhaustion, with the last two to three repetitions being hard, what you are actually doing is overloading the muscle fibres causing them to tear. Rebuilding the muscle more strongly forces the body to mobilise its fat reserves, thus the body uses (burns) fat to rebuild the muscle and make it stronger. This takes place after the exercise routine and can last for up to 48 hours. If you are burning fat all that time it must be worth the initial effort.
