Is it true that Vitamins E and C may help Omega-3 fatty acids work better?
Antioxidants, such as Vitamins E and C, may prevent Omega-3 fatty acid oxidation in the body. This prevents the formation of so-called lipid peroxides, which are highly reactive and possibly damaging. This could possibly help maintain higher levels of Omega-3s. These vitamins are harmless, and appear to have their own health benefits when used as directed. A reasonable dosage of vitamin E is 400-800 IU per day, and for vitamin C, anywhere from 500 to 1000 mg per day has been commonly used.
