Is it true that the ventless gas fireplaces produce moisture?
Natural gas actually produces water or moisture as this is a by-product of the gas. It often forms on cold surfaces but can pose a problem if this moisture is trapped in hard-to-see places, such as the attic. In this situation, mold and fungus could develop which can result in health problems in the persons living in that home and damages to the home itself. But, homes that are heated with electric baseboard and other radiator type heating sources can actually benefit from the moisture. Due to the added humidity that counteracts with the dry air that comes from these energy sources, the air-quality within the home can improve.
