Is it true that the new R-410a condensers cannot be installed on existing R-22 evaporators?

Yes. The equipment for R-410a systems must be specially designed for the 40% to 70% higher operating pressure than that in existing R-22 systems. Any attempt to mix & match an R-410a system or componant with exsisting R-22 systems will create a saftey hazard and violate many laws and regulations.
