Is it true that Suzuki students do not learn to read music?
No. While Suzuki students learn to play with natural facility before they actually read music, reading in the Hagberg Suzuki Piano Program is taught rigorously after the child has completed the first level of the method. This sequence mirrors the way children naturally learn to speak a language fluently, before they are able to read and recite at the same time. Well-taught Suzuki students become very good, natural readers.
