Is it true that Serie A is so corrupted and the entire league is running by Italian Mafia?
Well, since it seems to be a rumour, or worst, a conspiracy theory, then there’s no way we can claim it as true. Rumours and conspiracy theories are a series of events that coincidentally involves the same people within a given time, which can be put together to make up a story. However, these things cannot be thought of as true until the people involved proclaim it to be true, which may never happen. The Italian Serie A has seen it fair share of corruption over the years. I remember scandals from the 80s involving Diego Maradona. More recently, the scandal involving Juventus, AC Milan and Lazio where their head honchos bought off the referees to fix matches. Couple of those guys wanted to commit suicide as far as I recall. As far as the mafia goes, that could be true but I will still claim it to be a rumour until they come out of their mansions and say, “okay, we own the Serie A.” But know one thing, what would you think of a team that has the country’s Prime Minister as its owner.
