Is it true that planes drop fuel and ice on houses as they fly over?
There have been instances, although very rare, where items, such as ice and even parts of airplanes, have fallen off of aircraft here and elsewhere. In addition, in an emergency after takeoff, pilots have the discretion to dump fuel if it is necessary to do so in order to land safely, although both the Federal Aviation Administration and airline procedures strongly discourage dumping fuel over any sensitive areas, such as homes.
