Is it true that ice hockey is not Canadas most popular sport?

No, Hockey is much more POPULAR than Lacrosse is in Canada. Hockey is our National Winter sport, for that matter and generally the most popular. Hockey is to Canada as Football is to the States. Roughly. Although, Football (CFL and NFL) does have quite a following here. As for the Russian comment, Russia and Canada have always had a healthy rivalry when it comes to Hockey. Just look at this year, what with the Crosby-Ovechkin debate/showdown. Neither “always wins” against the other. We’re both just passionate about the game. It’s a stereotype that generally rings true, that Canadians are hockey-obsessed (although, of course, not EVERYONE is).
