Yes, high school students are welcome and encouraged to help with the GEAR UP program. Juniors and Seniors may earn college credit by volunteering for 33 hours in the GEAR UP program, attending 12 hours of college classes, and completing a portfolio. In order to participate, high school students must be in good standing. This year high school junior and seniors have the opportunity to enroll in the GEAR UP independent study course and work with the GEAR UP program during the day. These students will be able to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously. For more questions, you may contact the GEAR UP office.
