If common sense is innate it doesn’t need to be rediscovered as it would influence your every thought and action. But I wonder if you really mean something other than common sense as often what we take for common sense is actually acquired from our growing up in society and learning both beneficial values and confining prejudices. But there is an aspect of ourselves that is obviously innate that influences our common sense. Our sense of binocular, three dimensional vision and a sense of the passage of time influence our behavior. Our sense of cause and effect. Our innate sense of fairness. These are all ways of looking at the world that would dominate any judgments. Common sense tells us that the earth is flat and doesn’t move. But we know otherwise because of scientific knowledge.
