I grow cat grass and catnip for my cats. Here in Florida, I can grow it year ’round on my lanai (screened patio). You can probably grow it year ’round in colder climates if you have a sunny window for it. You can buy the cat grass in “ready-to-grow” kits-you just add water; or you can buy packets of cat grass seed and grow them in a pot of soil. In my area, cat grass seed is available at Petsmart and Target. Catnip plants can often be found at any store that sells herbs (as well as at Petsmart). I have bought catnip plants in the produce section of my local grocery store, and at the Walmart and Home Depot garden centers. My cats love to nibble the leaves, and they do not cause irritation that causes vomiting, as grass sometimes does.
