Is it true that Bank of America no longer allows online wire transfers?
Bank of America allows you to transfer to other Bank of America customers or your own account at another institution via bankofamerica.com. If you are looking to transfer to another customer, log in and click on the “Transfer” tab. From there, click on “Add Account.” You fill out the last 8 digits of your ATM or checkcard as well as the other party’s last name, account number, and zip code. Then, just click on “Continue.” Once you add the account, you will be able to transfer to the other Bank of America customer immediately (cutoff is 10:45pm ET). If you need to transfer to your own account at another institution, just click on “Transfers” and the link that reads “Outside the Bank.” Make sure to follow the directions. Once you fill out the required information, Bank of America will make 2 small trial deposits into your account at the other institution. These can take 1-3 business days. Once you receive the deposits, log back into bankofamerica.com to confirm them on the Transfer tab.
