Correct! Axius does not need bow or stern thrusters to move sideways or diagonally. Because the drive systems can steer, shift and throttle independently, the joystick can instruct them to thrust in a way that results in the boat moving directly to port or starboard, or actually at any angle without the assistance of thrusters. In addition, the boat’s speed is controlled proportionally by how far the joystick is moved from center. This intuitive system allows the operator to rapidly pick up the boat’s response to the joystick.
