Is it true that a person cannot convert to Catholicism if she is thinking of getting a divorce?

I think a person would be able to convert to Catholicism while still pondering divorce. We see in Mt 5: 31-2 that the actual divorce is not the main problem. The problem is with re-marrige, which causes a man and woman to commit adultery. The person asking the above question can become Catholic after a divorce, but may NOT re-marry as a Catholic, as this would be, in the eyes of the Church, an adulterous relationship.
