Is it true that a luchador once died in the ring?
EMLL luchador Oro died in the ring on October 26, 1993. It happened at Mexico City’s Arena Coliseo during the first fall of a match pitting Oro, La Fiera, and Brazo de Plata against Dr. Wagner Jr., Kahos, and Jacquemate. Oro took a chop to the chest, fell to the mat, and never got up. He apparently died of a brain aneurysm. Oro’s younger brother, Mickey Segura, wrestled as Oro Jr. before losing his mask to Dr. Cerebro in July 1998. Also, a wrestler named Sangre India died in the ring on December 25, 1979. He missed a tope and went into shock. This also happened at Arena Coliseo. He was 23. Pentagon NEARLY died after being backdropped by La Parka.
