Is it true Muhammad switched out Isaac for Ishmael in the sacrifice story?
Both the earlier Scriptures say it was Isaac not ishmael. But he Mo, switched the names because he is the descendant of ishmael and he wanted to be the descendant of the son who was to be sacrificed but he just couldn’t be that descendant so he just switched the names from Isaac to ishmael. He also wanted to show that his ancestor was superior since he was to be sacrificed and that is why he switched the story to boost his ego. And also to note that ishmael and his mother were sent away in the earlier chapter before the sacrifice.Thus Isaac was the only son that was there for Abraham.
