Being such a person myself I will that say that in times of dire circumstance and experiencing them so I use my humor to extend the outlook of life onto a much larger and broader picture. To remind myself and others that this one experience is but a moment in time while we have the rest of our live to live. Too many times people are caught up in the gravity and seriousness and struggle of the moment, which is necessary for survival. But they lose track of the future. They allow the momentary circumstances to color and cloud their thinking about the future. Somehow even both past and future is forgotten. Humorous people bring these things out. It is as they say not an act of bravery per se. But the attitude and act of bravery affirms self identity and focuses more on our abilities and the ability of others that help us to survive not just for the present. But also for the future. And thus knowledge is learned and kept so that when another crisis arises we can use this knowledge and past
