Is it too late to plant daffodil bulbs ?
You have to plant them or they will shrivel up and may die. You can plant daffodils, hyacinths and tulips from November up to Easter. Even if they don’t flower at least they will have a chance to produce leaves and build up their strength for the following year. Feed them as soon as you see the first signs of growth as this will encourage better blooms. If the ground is frozen put them on a tray with damp peat moss or sawdust or even soil in a cool, well-ventilated place until you have a chance to plant them. Do not let the bulbs freeze. Plant outdoors when the conditions are right. If you are on heavy clay soil dig in some gravel first to prevent the bulbs becoming waterlogged.
