Is it time to revisit a small, aluminum, diesel car for Audi?
I would say yes. The A2 was a little bit too early on the market. Nevertheless Audi is a pioneer in lightweight technology and diesel technology. The A2 was a full aluminum body structure and we are rethinking that story once again. There are a lot of good ideas and today we are already talking about the electrification of cars. Be sure that when Audi comes back to that segment it will be with an emotional product. But is that a premium car? Maybe you don’t want to go that small. I think our society is changing their habits a little bit and what we see, especially in Europe, is that premium and luxury is not defined by length and width. We decided to break through that barrier and we will start next year with the Audi A1 – a very emotional, sporty coupe in the small segment. We will define premium and luxury in that segment.
