It will never change the arguments for and against is the same in many countries why employ an unknown quantity when employing someone who offers their support and has family or political allegiances that match your own is far safer. I worked for a company that would only give upper managment jobs to ex footy players even though the company charter claimed to be an equal opportunity employer and many of the staff there were well able to do the job but it seemed every time a job came up we got an ex player. Experienced staff were often overlooked in favour of these guys and their inexperience often led to some quite dangerous situations yet the company would often extend probationary periods for them as compared to floor staff it caused a great deal of muttering in the ranks but they never changed their policies and eventually went broke which would not have happened if they had promoted from within.
