Is it the employers or the applicants responsibility to choose the level of Disclosure?
The applicant signs the CRB application, so ultimately it is the applicants responsibility to choose the Category Code and the type of Disclosure appropriate to the job. However, under the CRC system, the application process begins when the employer gives the applicant a voucher number, and the employer may help the applicant by pre-selecting the Category Code and embedding it in the Voucher Code. This means that when the applicant starts an application, the Category Code will already be in the application. If the applicant disagrees with the selection, he should query it with the employer before continuing with the application.
