Is it suitable to wear a black dress to a wedding the in the afternoon/evening?
It’s totally appropriate. The old fashion rules that stated you couldn’t wear black don’t really exist anymore. They don’t even really exist for funerals anymore either. The last time I attended a funeral. I wore black pants with a white shirt and a black cardigan. Was I dressed inappropriately because I had a white shirt mixed in? I’ve seen widows wearing gray or brown to funerals. Black isn’t associated with anything anymore. Now-a-days, it’s more about looking neat, clean and classic than following only color rules. The only color at a wedding that’s off-limits is white. Black is fine. Plus, there is NO way you could mistake a black cocktail dress for something you’d see someone wearing at a wedding. When is the last time you had bare shoulders at a funeral? I always wear black to weddings. Black is one of my favorite colors actually, because it’s very flattering ot the figure and it’s clean and sophisticated. In fact, I love black dresses so much, my bridesmaid are wearing them! It
