Is it strange that the BME Pain Olympics video is not an actual one?”

The BME Pain Olympics video is not an actual video of the BME Pain Olympics: nor is it a video of real pain, nor of real anything. It’s a spoof cooked up by that gentleman to the right there, Shannon Larrat. A very good spoof it has to be said, but a spoof all the same. BME stands for Body Modification Experience and is the name of a magazine and community centered on precisely that: body modification through piercings, tattoos and so on. There is also an occasional gathering (often near Toronto in Canada) called BMEfest. This is simply a gathering of the like minded and they do have what is called the “pain olympics” sometimes. This isn’t however, all about body modification and who can do the most painful thing to themselves. It’s more about the sort of thing that goes on at many a drunken BBQ: who can drink the most hot sauce for example. The defining difference at BMEfest is that most are sober while doing so. The BME Pain Olympics video is surprisingly not an actual video of the BME Pain Olympics. It’s not even a video of anything real in general. If that is the case, then who’s to say what it is.
