Is it still possible to use the distal lumen for the injection of a thermo dilution measurement with the PiCCO, after insertion of the CeVOX Probe?

For the insertion of the CeVOX Probe the distal lumen of the central venous catheter needs to be adapted for guide wires >= 0.032″. After insertion of the CeVOX Probe, the remaining flow rate is at least 1/5 of the original rate. Thus, pressurized infusion is still possible. However, for blood withdrawal, pressure measurement and injection for thermo dilution measurements the use of another lumen is recommended. It is recommended that the especially adapted CeVOX PULSIOCATH central venous catheter (PV2048L20CVC) be utilised as these allow the provision of blood withdrawal, pressure measurement and injection for thermo dilution measurements with the inserted CeVOX Probe in situ.
