Is it stealing to use someone elses WiFi signal?
If you have permission – it is not stealing. You have implied permission when visiting a business that provides free WiFi. While WiFi signals are in the air – they are not considered public domain in most areas. We recommend that you ask a neighbor’s or business’s permission before using their signal. Most states have developed laws to prevent malicious attempts to use WiFi signals. These laws are molded towards criminals, but may affect your use of a signal too.
