Rafe Bartholomew: It probably is a form of sporting protectionism which I think the Philippines, it’s their prerogative, and it’s their right to do it, and I think it helps the game out here, because you get to highlight some of the flashy local guards who aren’t so tall, they might be only 5’10” or something, but they’re really extremely creative with the ball and they come up with moves and shots that are different than you’d ever see in like the NBA. Mick O’Regan: Right, but there has been a tradition within the NBA of brilliant smaller players, and I think of someone like John Stockwell from Boston, who were fabulous with the ball on the ground.
