Both Schools have been involved in the planning process for their new building and their long-term plans and expansion have been taken into account in developing the capacity of the building. As with all developments in the 40 year history of the University, buildings have to be able to be adaptable to meet changing requirements. Flexible use has been incorporated as one of the key principles of the building design on Heslington East.
