Is it scripturally correct to expect a reward for good deeds done?

No, I don’t think so. I believe we reap what we sow, but I don’t think this can be translated into a direct “reward” for good deeds. There is a lot of scripture about giving hospitality freely and not grudgingly. And a lot of scripture about putting others before ourselves and being selfless.

The only reward for doing good should feeling good that you done good.

Absolutely YES! I can see from all the existing answerers that I’m something of a non-conformist but if I am expected to suffer a penalty of negative karma for selfishness, unrighteousness, maliciousness, self-righteousness, arrogance or self-indulgence, then I certainly feel hard done by if I don’t get a reward of positive karma for my good deeds. Sadly this doesn’t seem to be the case in my life so far. Negative karma is quick enough to appear but positive karma takes its time. I like to think of it as a bank account which pays interest. Interest is deducted instantly when I withdraw funds and paid instantly as a credit when I add to my funds by making a deposit.
