Is it safe to use water cooling for the processor and other components of a PC?
When put together correctly, a water cooling system is safe (granted, you probably don’t want to drop or hit your computer with water cooling but you don’t want to do that anyway!) When put in incorrectly, a water cooling system is bad news for your system. I have spoken with someone who used a water cooling system he installed himself. He lost a lot of very expensive components that day! Water cooling systems were designed because water is far more efficient than fans or heat sinks (essentially metal fins) at dissappating heat. While I do not know the exact deatils of water cooling systems, I’m willing to bet that the water does not come in actual contact with the components, but rather, come very close to those components. Typically, water cooling systems are the choice of gamers, etc, who overclock their systems (or just have a configuration that naturally runs hot – like lots of hard drives). The overclocking defeats the “governor” of a component. This governor prevents the compone
