Is it safe to throw away used hypodermic needles from home use?
For years, residents have been told to throw out used hypodermic needles from home use in the trash. Unfortunately, even needles placed in coffee cans or plastic jugs can cause unintentional harm and injury to a recycling or trash worker. The District coordinates a program to help residents collect and properly dispose of hypodermic needles without putting them in the recycling or trash.
