Is it safe to thaw food at room temperature?
Food should be thawed in the refrigerator, not at room temperature. Put the frozen item on a plate so that the juices do not drip on other food and put on the lowest shelf in the refrigerator. You can also thaw frozen food in the microwave, in a sink filled with cold water, or in cold running water. Cook thawed food right away or put it in the refrigerator.
