Is it safe to repace batteries without shutting off the electricity?
Yes. Removing the wall plate allows you to grip the LED module and pull it out. Replacing the wall plate at that point further enhances safe handling. The PowerSURE® Power Failure light has extra wide shoulders to keep you from coming in contact with any high voltage wires. As a precaution, you should visually inspect the side areas near the shoulders before grasping the LED module to ensure the unit was installed properly and no wires protrude from the sides of the unit. If so, we recommend that you turn of the circuit breaker for that wall box and reinstall the unit properly.
