Is it safe to leave disposable contact lenses in for 5 days before removing them?
It is best to take them out daily, because your eyes need a break from them, and they also need to have at least 6 hrs of storing in a contact lens case with solution, to condition the lenses, and remove proteins and/or bacteria. If you absolutely cannot get them out, buy some of the AMO Blink N Clean eye drops; they help remove proteins and deposits while you are wearing your lenses. My number one suggestion would be to go to a Wal-Mart Vision Center though; most of them are open on Saturdays. Even if it isn’t your regular eye doctor. It shouldn’t cost you much, if anything. They can help you take them out. There are also little plunger-type things you can buy online that help you in removing soft or hard contact lenses. Here’s one website that has a few tools for inserting and removing contacts.
