Is it safe to freeze cooked food in take away containers?

I do all of the time. Especially for lasagna or casseroles. That way I can take them out of the freezer in the morning, take them to work and leave them on my desk until lunch. By then they are no longer frozen and ready to heat and eat. I reuse all containers and I think the best brand is rubbermaid because the seal on the top is the best.
