Is it safe to eat raw or soft-cooked eggs?
• Ensure that the egg is clean and the shell is not cracked. • Prepare only enough food for one meal or sitting. Do not keep leftovers. • Serve all egg-rich products imediately after preparing or store them in the refrigerator. The risk of bacterial contamination from a raw or under-cooked egg is very minimal. Very young children, the elderly, those with weakened immune systems and pregnant women should be extra cautious and not eat raw or soft-cooked eggs.
