Is it safe to drink red bull before working out ?
Red bull contains caffiene, which is a stimulant – this will increase your heart rate and blood pressure. Vigorous exercise, such as a workout, will also increase your heart rate and blood pressure. Add the two together and, in some people – especially those with heart problems, it may increase the heart rate and/or blood pressure beyond what the body can cope with. If someone has died from this combination, it is most likely that it was because of an underlying heart problem. I wouldn’t worry too much about being tired after a workout – you may feel physically tired, but often doing exercise will make you more mentally alert. Therefore if you workout, have a bit of a break (20 mins or so) to let your body physically recover, you should actually end up feeling more awake then you did beforehand!
