Lemon juice does not interact with cholesterol lowering medicines. Grapefruit juice inhibits the enzyme CYP450 therefore elevating the plasma level of drugs which are also metabolized by this enzyme. The elevated plasma level of the drugs may cause side effects hence the cautionary advise to not take grapefruit juice with these medicines. Lemon juice does not inhibit the enzyme CYP450.
