Is it safe to clean out the prefetch folder?
Yes you can delete everything in there. It will make your computer start faster, but the apps that have been staged in the prefetch folder will now take a little longer to open. Windows prefetch folder is all of the software that you have used being stored there in a way aso that when windows boots, it can load up all that stuff and those programs will open quickly. Over time you will have a bunch of stuff in the prefetch folder that you don’t use hardly at all. So if you clear it out, windows can start building a new list of apps that you use most frequently.
