Is it safe to chip my wii?
Well firstly for sure is that as soon as you open your Wii your 1st year warranty will be void, which isn’t the end of the world, chances are nothing is going to go wrong with your console within the first year anyway, if you’re console is over a year old this doesn’t affect you and other repair services are available, nintendo will still accept your console in for repair if we can’t fix the problem. Second biggest issue is you could “brick” your console (render it inoperable), bricking occurs when you install a mod chip and update from a game from another region (i.e.: use a JAP game to update a PAL console will brick your wii), this should not be confused with playing games online as you can still do this with a mod chip safely.
