PeerGuardian is safe to turn off and/or disable PeerGuardian, that is if you are doing nothing on your computer and are not connected to a network. However if you plan to download something on a network and want to be effectively protect your network and/or computer, we advised keeping PeerGuardian on to keep you safe to known Ip ranges that spy on users that download. It is really up to the users preference to turn off or disable PeerGuardian, please be careful if you choose to turn off or disable PeerGuardian.
