If you have genital herpes, the best thing for your baby is to have a c section. That is the safest way to deliver to ensure that your baby will not get herpes, and avoids any possible side effects of the valtrex. If the pharmacist says that it could harm your baby, I wouldn’t chance it. Sorry. I know it’s not the answer you were hoping for, but I’d have a c section.
