Is it right for a Headmaster to punish child before AND after the holidays?
The school can not refuse to give your child and Individual Education Plan, your child has been put on school action plus, therefore this identifies that an IEP is appropriate. Your local authority should have a helpline called something like Parent Partnership, or Parents in Partnership, look up your local authority on the net or give them a call. As your son has been diagnosed with ASD the school have access to an Autism specialist within the local authority, who can help the school to understand the condition and how best to support your son. The punishment seems extreme for an 8 year old, and extremely unfair for a child who has Austism and all that goes with the conditions. I would also try speaking to the head teacher and see if they have taken into account his autism. If not and they are not prepared to then i’d write a formal complaint to the school copying it to the chair of governors.
