Is it really true that drinking GUINNESS beer, has health benefits, or is this just a joke?
It’s true, although no one is allowed to say it anymore for fear that people will drink too much (which is bad, of course). “Guinness is good for you” was one of their old campaigns, and for good reason. It has… 1) High iron content 2) High vitamin B (from the brewer’s yeast) 3) Lower calories than many other beers (just 125 per 12 oz) 4) Proven benefits to lowering blood clots 5) Antioxidants 6) Several other benefits that people haven’t quite figure out yet (a half pint a day used to be perscibed to lactating mothers because it helped their production) Heck, the whole reason it’s called “Stout” is because it was drunk by people who did physical labor (Same is true for “Porters).
