Is it really possible to fit a GPS based tracking device inside a golf ball? And why hasnt it been done before?
Yes, it is possible to fit a GPS based tracking device inside a golf ball. This is made possible by a newly released, miniature GPS module made by Motorola GPS. There are of course all the physical extremes that are yet to be tested against, but the chip built to go inside the golf ball is certainly small enough and utilises this new GPS technology. Perhaps the reason why it hasnt been done before is the fact that the miniature GPS technology simply didnt exist.
