There are companies out there that sell CPU upgraded for Mac. Apple don’t sell them, however. Do a Google for “Macintosh processor upgrade” to find some. Like PCs (surprise!) not all Macs have processor upgrades. Your milage may vary. 1Ghz is not that slow. You can get a boost by turning of Secure Virtual memory under Security in System Preferences. This option uses a good bit of processing power. I wonder how many of those guys who complain that Macs are hard to upgrade own some hard to upgrade proprietary PCs like Dell or HP?
